PistolTimer: A Sound Timer for Shooting Training

PistolTimer is a sound timer that assists in real-fire training for various shooting disciplines including Standard Pistol, Center Fire Pistol, 9mm Pistol, Ladies Sport Pistol, and Speed Pistol. Developed as a tool to aid in the sport of shooting, this free and widely available application is designed for Android devices.

The application offers several sound timers, including 300 seconds, 150 seconds, 20 seconds, 10 seconds, Duel, and Speed. These timers provide long sounds (ATTENTION or CEASE FIRE) and short sounds (FIRE command), which are useful for training with real firearms in shooting galleries or even in competitions where turning targets are not available.

To start a desired series, simply tap the corresponding button on the main screen. It is advisable to be in a prepared position, with the correct grip on the firearm, before pressing the start button. This allows the weak hand to press the desired series button and then bring the firearm to the shooting position (pocket, belt, etc.) There is a 5-second interval between pressing the button and the ATTENTION sound.

If you have difficulty hearing the sounds from your phone's speaker or if you want to use the application with multiple shooters in training or competition, you can connect small amplified speakers (such as desktop PC speakers).

PistolTimer also includes a target simulator for dry-fire training in the Duel discipline. This helps correct errors in the moment of the shot and teaches proper management of the 3-second interval for the start and shot.

The application operates in continuous mode, allowing indefinite training of the 7-second-3-second cycle until the stop button is pressed on the screen.

IMPORTANT: ENSURE THAT THE FIREARM IS UNLOADED FOR DRY-FIRE TRAINING.

For dry-fire training, position the phone between 2 and 3 meters away and 1.30 meters high (depending on the size and resolution of the phone) from where you are with the firearm.
